Overview:
Hinckley acquired the rights to build the Owens Cutter in the 50's and built several out of wood. The Hinckley 41 is a derivative of that hull orchestrated by Bob Hinckley in the Fall of 1964 / Winter of 1965. Bob built a couple for himself, the final version being a competition version with the spade rudder called Night Train, in 1969.
